Kuala Lumpur City Hall [DBKL] is becoming more committed in drafting out the tourism industry development strategy for the capital city. In order to realize this plan, on 13th October 2014 [Monday] the Opening Ceremony of Jalan-Jalan @ Kampong Bharu was held and was officiated by YBhg. Datuk Seri Ahmad Phesal Talib, the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur at Sultan Sulaiman Club, Kampong Bharu.
In his opening speech, YBhg Datuk Seri Ahmad Phesal said that DBKL has targeted 2500 visitors, consisting of foreign as well as local tourists, will participate in this ‘guided walk’ programme. ‘’Jalan-Jalan @ Kampong Bharu is a visit on foot with the guided assistance of tourist guides who are licensed and have vast knowledge on the background of Kampong Bharu’’, he said.
He added that it is also a tourism programme that uses existing infrastructure which has been improvised to create a walking route for this visit.
