Background Department
Is responsible for providing recreational facilities for city dwellers and plays an important role in ensuring the beautification of the city is ongoing towards achieving our vision of making Kuala Lumpur a World Class Sustainable Tropical City by 2020. In line with the vision and mission of the Department of Landscaping and Recreation Development to make Kuala Lumpur a city in the Park, beautification work is continuous together with upgrading of recreational and leisure facilities for all age groups and disabled.
Beautification programs and maintenance of park areas and landscaping areas must continue to run smoothly and from year to year, and in order to provide comfort and tranquility all city dweller as well as visitors from outstation, new parks will be opened.

CLIENT CHARTER
1. Plan landscaping projects at least 6 months.
2. Landscape design can be completed for:
- Large projects (Budget: More than RM5 million) - 6 months.
- Medium projects (Budget: RM1 million - RM5 million) - 3 months.
- Small projects (Budget: Less RM500K) - 1 month.
3. Ensure that the projects tree planting and landscaping carried out in accordance with best practices in line with the vision to make Kuala Lumpur City as a Sustainable Tropical Garden City by 2020.
4. Ensure that the area of public parks and shady trees in public areas are always clean, beautiful and safe to the public.
5. Various types of trees planted by 30,000 a year.
6. Gardens are open from 6:00 am to 8.00 pm.
7. Ensure cleaning fallen trees and branches under maintenance DBKL made within 24 hours of receiving the information.
8. Ensure damage repair work on the playground the children be taken within thirty (30) working days from receipt of complaints and also from regular inspections on site.
9. Ensure the flower arrangements services are met with customers needs.
10. Provide facilities for activities / recreation events in public parks at least 10 events per month.
11. Acknowledgment of receipt to ensure that public complaints are made within one (1) working day and follow up action taken within three (3) working days. Subsequent feedback to the complainant and actions within fourteen (14) working days from receipt of complaints.
12. Ensure the application site rent recreational use in public parks are issued within one (1) days from the date of application. Each approved application will be issued a letter of authorization on site. While the application by letter to the Administration Division will take action within seven (7) working days.
13. Ensure the payment to the contractor sent to the review and payment, the Finance Department within ten (10) working days.
