Background Department

The Property Management & Valuation Department was established in 1958 and was then known as the Urban Valuation Office. In 1975, the department was given a new name; the Property Management & Valuation Department Kuala Lumpur City Hall which was in line with the functions of the department. The main functions of the department are to make tax valuations on a total of 546,367 pieces of private property in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur which contributed an income of RM 559,370,892 million for the first half of 2012.

Jabatan ini diketuai oleh seorang Pengarah Jusa C dan dibantu oleh seorang Timbalan Pengarah Kanan W54, dan 2 orang Timbalan Pengarah W52 serta 17 orang pegawai Kumpulan A. Jumlah kakitangan jabatan ini sehingga tahun 2016 ialah seramai 225 orang kakitangan.

OBJECTIVE

To ensure that private property in WPKL is assessed for the purpose of assessment tax in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Act 1976, to manage the property of the Mayor and to provide property valuation advisory services for DBKL internal departments efficiently and effectively.

FUNCTION

  1. Membuat penilaian cukai taksiran ke atas hartanah persendirian di Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.
  2. Membuat penilaian caruman membantu kadar ke atas harta milik Kerajaan Persekutuan, Kerajaan Negeri dan Badan Berkanun.
  3. Membuat penilaian nilai pasaran, nilai pampasan, nilai sewa, nilai pajakan, nilai insuran dan kajian kemungkinan bagi harta-harta milik DBKL atau yang dicadang dibeli/disewa/diambil balik oleh DBKL.
  4. Membuat penilaian caj pembangunan mengikut permintaan dari Jabatan Perancang & Kawalan Bangunan DBKL.
  5. Mengurus permohonan tanah, sewaan tanah dan bayaran cukai tahunan bagi tanah-tanah milik DBKL.
  6. Mengurus dan menyelenggara bangunan pejabat, kilang, pangsapuri dan kondominium milik DBKL.
  7. Mengurus permohonan hakmilik strata bagi perumahan awam milik DBKL.
  8. Mengawal selia pengurusan dan penyenggaraan bangunan berstrata di seluruh Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur dalam melaksanakan fungsi Pesuruhjaya Bangunan Kuala Lumpur.

The counter here provides facilities to citizens for search services for applications to obtain ownership information as well as property updates through Form I & J and change the correspondence address for the assessment tax bill.

2. UPDATE OF OWNERSHIP EXCHANGE THROUGH FORM I & J

Each process of updating the transfer of title through Form I & J must be submitted as follows:

  1. Copy of Sale or Purchase Agreement or Grant
  2. Copy of New Owner Identity Card
  3. Copy of Assessment Tax paid
  4. If the Company must submit SSM information

3. APPLICATION FOR PROPERTY OWNERSHIP INFORMATION

When searching, should provide the following information:

  1. Lot number
  2. Street Name
  3. Section
  4. Property Position Plan

Each search below will cost you a fee RM42.40 (including GST) and the information to be provided is as follows:
